Tracking Zach

Don't ever take sides with anyone against the family. Ever.

Zach with his Godparents, Paul and Maddie

Zach was Baptized last week at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. He was the first of the fourth generation to be wear the Simmet family Baptismal gown (my grandfather, mom (and her siblings and all their kids), myself (and my siblings) and Zach were all Baptized in it). Jamer would've preferred we waited until Zach was old enough to make his own decision to be Baptized, but I wanted to make sure he got a jump start on it - he can decide whether he's confirmed or not.

My little one was a trooper and slept through most of the ceremony, waking only for a minute when the holy water was poured on his head. He was asleep again before he was toweled off.

It was a special event - but even more special because Deacon Jim Meyer, a close family friend, performed the Baptism. Jim, who lived next door to my family, was like a second dad to me. His daughter, Melissa, and I were best friends growing up. Zach has no idea how lucky he is.

By the way, for those of you who don't know (I'm very disappointed if you don't), the title of this post is a quote from The Godfather.
